Wayfinding in the forest

We made the forest. But how do you find your way through it?

Looking at DFOS post-Hacienda, we love seeing how much people embrace the desktop metaphor as a way of expressing their vision. (Sol Invicto and Tech Itch Recordings, please take a bow.)

At the same time, this much freedom can make it hard for people to know where to start, what’s happening next, or the overall lay of the land.

Over the next few weeks, our DFOS updates will focus on helping both SpaceRunners and Members better find their way in the forest.

What we want: DFOS as a simple tool that provides clear utility, while opening up a new form of creative expression for presenting your work and world.

What we don’t want: DFOS as a complicated tool that makes you do the work of figuring it out.

This week those changes will begin with two specific improvements: a new universal nav bar (we already can’t live without it); and a new way of setting expectations and bringing people together within spaces.
