I found this read from HN today interesting and quite pertinent to the efforts of DFOS. Even more interesting in light of Discord's recent required age-verification move, and why the "just find/make another community!" response is usually wrong.

It's also making me rethink just how much control over our own communities we give to others not in that community.

And anyone who quotes Jane Jacobs is alright in my book!
