Hey everyone. Welcome to Week 04 in NCE.DFOS. Here are the major happenings this week.

The big topic: From grove to forests

Last week we shared two posts that got a lot of conversation going: the DFOS product roadmap and how we're thinking about pricing. Thank you to everyone who shared feedback. It’s really helped shape our thinking. If you haven’t yet weighed in, please do.

Why are we sharing this stuff so early? Because we’re building this for people like us who have spent years coming together with others online, and who have lots of strong opinions about what online spaces get wrong and right. We’re not trying to make a generic community product. We’re trying to make the thing we’ve always wanted to exist that also assumes these spaces will have increasingly more significant impact on the world at large.

Because we’re building a product for people like us, we want to make it transparent and understandable. Things like how money flows, what things cost, what we're building next, and why.

Meanwhile, before we were even ready for it, this community has started to become an ecosystem. Vinny launched clear.txt. Sounds of the Forest and Artist Corporations are up and running. Robert made a space directory without anyone asking him to. Edgar made members cards. Lena proposed a member map. People are organizing reading groups and Screenshot Saturdays. The forest is bustling already.

We're watching all of this very closely this week as we prepare treasury, roles, emails, and a revamped posts product to ship soon. The goal is to make these spaces not just fun to hang out in (though that too), but places where groups can collect and split money, communicate, and build something that lasts. 

Just four weeks in and it already feels like we’ve come so far.

Week 03 highlights

• New Creative Era episode 02.12 published: Four countries or a thousand?, the second of our two AMA episodes.

• We shared the DFOS product roadmap covering treasury, email/newsletters, public posts, and stores.

• We shared how we're thinking about pricing — a freemium model with tiers at Free, $25/mo, and $50/mo. Great discussion in the comments.

• We launched acorp.co.

• Vinny launched clear.txt (clear.dfos.com), a new DFOS for tech enthusiasts covering AI, crypto, privacy, and security. The first community-created space to announce itself here.

• Robert made a DFOS Space Directory consolidating all the emerging spaces — community self-organizing in action.

• Lena proposed an NCE member location map to visualize how spread out this community is.

• #ScreenshotSaturday continued for its second week.

• We went from 381 to 954+ members. The forest is growing fast.
