Pendleton Art Center (Cincinnati, Ohio) - a model for dfos spaces, maybe? π€
MARCH 1ST, 2026

Inspired by @justice's post, I've been thinking a lot about dfos spaces being curatorial, similar to a joint studio building. Where artists all have their own practices but they can all gather in a single place to give patrons a way to visit a single place to see/buy all their art in a single destination. Importantly, these joint studio buildings are not just galleries. They are actually the workplaces of the artists. S and I like to visit "Final Fridays" here in Cincy at the Pendleton Art Center (PAC) downtown and I love seeing all the various artists in their own studios, working with the proverbial garage door up. Additionally, the artists are also all friends and collaborate amongst themselves throughout the week as well. I am thinking smaller, more intimate dfos spaces can maybe take after this model in the future?
PAC itself has been around since 1990 and today hosts more than 200 artists in its eight stories! Definitely recommend visiting if you're ever in Cincy!
