The Institute for Artifact-ial Research and Development

I've been working on a project called the Artifact for the last year and I wanted to share it here.
The premise: the Institute for Artifact-ial Research and Development is a fictional research facility that studies information viruses, institutional breakdown, and autonomous systems. The dispatches are recovered documents from this Institute -- field reports, containment logs, transcripts of events that may or may not have happened.
Each dispatch is built from a hexagram in the I Ching. The oracle text gets corrupted, inverted, and rebuilt into speculative archaeology. 13 dispatches are published so far out of a planned 64.
I think of it a bit as a serialized novel or rather a prompt for generating text for one through a kind of drafting in public. Once the dispatches are done, I’ll be working to create a long form work that draws from this writing.
I just shipped a new dispatch tonight and redesigned the site. Would love to hear what people think.
