Update: New post pulse cards and posts-in-chat reading experience

Building on yesterdays new comment section rollout, we've shipped new interactive post cards in chat to streamline chat-to-post-to-chat reading flows and several other smaller fixes and improvements -- give it a spin :) We're continuing to tweak over the next few days based on usage and feedback.

Full changes below:

Posts & comments

• Post cards in chat now render as full interactive cards — upvote, bookmark, comment, share, and edit/delete all work inline
• Clicking a post card in chat opens a full-screen modal overlay with post detail + comments, preserving your chat scroll position
• Pinned post banners in chat also open the same modal
• Comment button on post cards in chat opens the modal scrolled directly to comments
• Pinned post headers now show title + snippet for long posts and full body for short posts
• Upvotes and bookmarks on both posts and comments are now 100% instant with no flash or re-fetch lag
• Long URLs and unbreakable strings now wrap correctly in comment edit textareas
• Backslash characters no longer appear in post snippet previews and chat message previews

Notifications

• Reply notifications now correctly notify both the root comment author and the direct reply-to author
• Mentions no longer suppress the more useful "replied to your comment" notification
• Notification badge updates immediately instead of staying stale until manual refresh
• Fixed a 500 error that could occur when loading notifications containing legacy data

Chat

• Emoji-only messages now render at a larger font size
• Stripped leftover backslash line-break characters from chat previews and thread list items

Members

• Member cards now show Follow/Following as the primary action with a compact chat icon for messaging
• Mutual followers and mutual spaces facepiles capped at 3 avatars in profile modals

Mentions & data integrity

• Fixed double-encoding of @mentions when editing comments or posts
• Backfilled existing double-wrapped mention bodies across the platform

Other

• Closed spaces now show a clear message in the invite dialog for non-admins
